The Department of Fine Arts at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a Lecturer in Art History. This position is a one-year, renewable faculty position. The successful candidate will be responsible for regularly teaching two lower level art surveys in support of the Fine Arts majors, covering Prehistory through Medieval and Renaissance to Present, as well as art appreciation, and then in rotation Art Beyond the West, Art Since 1945, Modern Art to 1945, Women in the Arts and other related courses as necessary. Teaching load is 4/4 or 24 credit hours.
Approximately 60+ percent of the department consists of BFA students pursuing a concentration in Graphic Design. An individual eager to support the design and studio areas and work with gifted faculty is most welcome. Experience assisting students in becoming better writers, conducting assessment, and exhibiting a desire to engage in Portfolio Review of BFA candidates is preferred. Participation in departmental recruiting events and overall service to the department is expected.
