About this Opportunity
Ball State University is recruiting an Assistant Director for Programs to join the Student Affairs team! In this role, you provide leadership to the development and maintenance of a strong and effective Student Center Programs unit. This position will work with a paid undergraduate event staff, student volunteers, graduate assistants, Student Center Staff, and other appropriate university departments to successfully contribute to the educational aspects of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center by providing the campus community with a variety of social, educational, and entertaining events. Position Function
Provide leadership to the development and maintenance of a strong and effective Student Center Programs unit. This position will work with a paid undergraduate event staff, student volunteers, graduate assistants, Student Center Staff, and other appropriate university departments to successfully contribute to the educational aspects of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center by providing the campus community with a variety of social, educational, and entertaining events. This position will work Monday through Friday with nights and weekends as needed.
Minimum Education
Completion of master's degree from an accredited institution prior to appointment of position.
Minimum Experience
At least one year of campus programming, event management, or work in related field.
Minimum Other
Attendance of evening and weekend events as needed.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Experience
At least one year of experience in union programming, student activities, housing and residence life, or recreation services programming.
Preferred Other
Demonstrated commitment to student development theory and practice, and a firm belief in the role of the college union in higher education. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.
