Position Summary Information
Responsibilities	
The Assistant to the Provost has the overall responsibility for ensuring that all personnel policies and procedures applying to faculty and staff in the Academic Affairs unit, academic program reporting to the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL), and related functions operate smoothly and accurately. This includes establishing the academic calendar, official publications for Academic Affairs, and communicating promptly and accurately with all units of Academic Affairs to ensure the timely notification and receipt of all personnel and programming information. Specifically, the Assistant to the Provost is responsible for the following functions.

	•	Manages processing of Employment Action Forms for new and adjunct faculty.
	•	Manages EPAF approvals for all overloads and adjuncts for fall, spring and summer sessions.
	•	Manages implementation of electronic imaging of faculty files to Xtender Solutions.
	•	Monitors/Manages time schedule for processing of new academic programs and academic reports to Mississippi IHL.
	•	Coordinates selection process for Provost to award tenure, promotion, emeritus status, Outstanding Teacher and Student awards.
	•	Coordinates and maintains University Committees.
	•	Prepares/Maintains all purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
	•	Coordinates/Maintains all contractors/consultant paperwork.
	•	Maintains Official Absences
	•	Coordinates special functions and recognitions hosted by the Academic Affairs Office.
	•	Coordinates special projects assigned by the Provost.
	•	Trains Graduate Students and office workers.
	•	Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications	
- Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration or related field.
- 3 years of experience in office management.
- Facility with Microsoft Office suite; highly adept at-use of Excel Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with peers and superiors Prior experience with Banner.

Salary	Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources.

- Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field.

Prior experience in a higher education academic setting.
