Quality Control Coordinator
Quality Control Coordinator Job Description
Responsible for supporting management of the Quality Management System(s) for your designated location(s). Will be responsible for providing QC on product release processes needed for the QMS. The Quality Control Coordinator will report to the Quality Manager at designated location.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- High-School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- 2 years Quality Control or Machining process operation.
- Preferred oil and gas and/or manufacturing industry experience
- Experience in assisting with inspection of processes by observing, documenting, and communicating processes’ adherence in relation to QMS.
- Preferred experience with machining operations and/or inspecting the requirements of API 7-1 & API 7-2 Specifications
- Preferred experience with review of customer & product conformity requirements
Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications relevant to the job
- Setting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Understand the API-7 Specification for Rotary Drill Stem Elements
- Understand API Q1 and/or ISO 9001 Specification for Quality Systems Standard
- Understand TH Hill DS-1 Volume 3 Drill Stem Inspection Standard
- Organizational skills required for inspection activities and support for multiple projects at once
Key Responsibilities/ Essential Functions of the Position:
- Responsible for Product Release activities as defined by API Q1, ISO 9001, and DTI QMS requirements related to the reliability of operational techniques and activities used to fulfill requirements for quality
- Responsible for the control of product quality in a service organization to ensure that the service meets customer requirements
- Inspection of machined components that meet the requirements of the API-7-1 / API 7-2 & TH Hill DS-1 Volume 3 Standards
- Organizational skills required for the coordination of Inspection activities for multiple projects at once.
- Assist on Quality investigations for internal incidents, customer complaints, and / or any employee Quality suggestions, and corrective action surveillance implemented and effective
- Assure and assist on QC incoming orders placed by customers
- Ensure the proper tool order is shipping per Customer request and meets DTI procedures.
- Ensure QC load outs have proper documentation and matching information from customer order vs BOL singed by driver.
- Spot check tools on the paint rack for proper identification, color code, and operations performed requiring validation per DTI procedures.
- Assist in loading tool baskets to ensure the correct tools are put in baskets and spot any visual damage requiring further evaluation
- Assist in inputting tool orders from customers in the system, as needed.
- Review of historical SQ REACT Events related to shipping activities in order to create actions to prevent reoccurrence
Work Environment:
The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme outside temperatures and Industrial hygiene regulated activities identified as potentially actionable according to OSHA standards. Including Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection and HAZCOM programs. Procedures are developed at each facility to minimize all risks and hazards through control measures.
