We currently seek a Software Engineer to join our team of innovative software developers and analysts who work together on a wide range of software. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software systems for a higher education institute using modern technologies including Ellucian Banner Student Information System (SIS). This individual will work closely with a team of software developers, project managers and stakeholders to ensure that software solutions are delivered on time, within budget and meet customer requirements
The exposure to new situations and responsibilities will hone abilities you might not have realized you had. You can make a difference to a student's life! In fact, you will be able to see your work in action by simply walking around the campus. This position is potentially eligible for up to 2 days per week remote work.

The anticipated starting salary for this position is between $59757- $75,000, commensurate with skills and experience.

Key responsibilities
- Design and develop software systems using Ellucian software and related technologies.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new software features.
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure software is developed according to best practices and standards.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues and provide technical support to customers.
- Document software design, development, and deployment processes.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in software development
- Proficient in either .NET, Java, C++ or other programming languages.
- Experience with database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
- Experience building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, JSON, etc.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Experience in Higher Education
- Experience in development in Student Information Systems
- Experience in Middleware tools, such as integration broker; Ethos; Data Connect
- Experience with development in cloud technologies
