The Roanoke Times is seeking a reporter to cover Virginia Tech football and general assignment sports. The primary duty is coverage of the Virginia Tech football beat, a major driver of print and digital circulation. Offseason duties include not only Virginia Tech football news but general assignment, including some Radford University coverage, high school games and features on the Roanoke area's minor-league baseball and minor-league hockey players. Candidates must be experienced at writing on deadline, have knowledge of AP style and have multimedia experience including shooting and editing video. This job involves night and weekend work on a regular basis, particularly during football season.
