The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking an Administrative Trainee to work on the coordination of educational and vocational services provided in juvenile residential programs. Further, the person will work on developing community partnerships for youth employment and internship opportunities. Preferred candidates will have experience in education service delivery, including career, technical and vocational education. Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Engages justice system involved youth, families, probation officers, attorneys, and service providers to identify youth needs and interests in education, training, vocational exploration, and employment.
- Develops, procures, and maintains student support services, including but not limited to, tutors and vocational and technical education opportunities (e.g., training, certification, industry recognized credentials, employment).
- Develops networks of community relationships, organizations, and business partners through ongoing outreach, maintenance, and expansion of networks; creates and manages associated databases and publications.
- Manages and audits related documents and invoices with organized, timely, and accurate methods of reconciliation and communication.
- Researches, organizes, and disseminates information and resources to support and increase the knowledge of diverse stakeholders; creates systems of internal and external communications.
- Collaborates with procurement staff to obtain goods and services to provide educational and vocational opportunities for youth.
- Develops and provides training and other professional development initiatives to support reentry specialists and other staff to promote self-sufficiency and increase job effectiveness.
Salary Range: $63,350 - $81,642/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits.
New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A Bachelor's or a Master's degree.*
*Note: Incumbents with a Master's degree may be hired at step 2 of the pay group.
APPOINTMENT: Appointment to positions in this class shall be for a period not to exceed twenty-four months.
