Job Summary

Reporting to the IT Contracts and Compliance Manager, the IT Software Compliance Sr. Specialist is responsible for assisting with understanding license positions relative to installed software, consulting on best practices, and ensuring high quality customer experiences. This includes support, management, and administration of licenses for software and application services and products across the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*

  • Facilitates the organizational needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products by ensuring that maintenance, support, and upgrade protection renewals are managed in advance of their expiration
  • Identifies savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of trends in industry and academia to research, develop, recommend, and implement standards, and procedures around best practices for the acquisition, tracking, usage, and reporting of assets and asset configurations
  • Coordinates with district campuses and departments to identify and obtain software and technology to support curriculums and student success; ensures users are aware of relevant processes, policies, and procedures to obtain technology and comply with contract and license terms
  • Enters and maintains information in a database format to address budgeting, software compliance, inventory, contracts, and costs
  • Assists in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain information
  • Responds to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management data information

  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute

Supervision

  • Works under the general supervision of IT Contracts and Compliance Manager

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or 60 hours and two (2) years working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software licensing, procuring, and maintaining as well as knowledge of software contracting
  • Certification in asset management or Information Technology Information Library (ITIL)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint at the advanced level
  • Skilled in managing multiple commitments in a timely manner with attention to detail
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
  • Ability to manage projects and develop improved processes and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
