The Department of Mathematics, College of Science at Texas A&M University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor, full-time, non-tenure track, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure), position with a 9-month, academic appointment beginning August 17, 2020. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Visiting Assistant Professor depending on qualifications.
Visiting Assistant Professor positions are intended for those who have recently finished their Ph.D. The position includes reduced teaching and strong support for research in computational and interdisciplinary mathematics. The position will be in vigorous development of Data Science at Texas A&M University, taking place e.g. in the Research Institute for Foundations of Interdisciplinary Data Science (fids.tamu.edu), the Institute of Data Science (tamids.tamu.edu), and the Institute for Scientific Computation (isc.tamu.edu). Candidates trained in traditional areas and willing to transition into Data Science are welcomed.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or other Data Science related field.
