Planning and Zoning Clerk
NOTICE OF FUTURE VACANCY
Title: (Planning and) Zoning Clerk
Status: Permanent Full-Time, 40 hours a week (minimum 2080 hours per year)
Salary: $20.00/ hour ($41,600 annual) plus benefits
Qualifications: One or more of the following educational/experience criteria:
- Associate’s degree in business administration, secretarial science or a related field; or
- Two (2) years of clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above; AND
- Experience in a Planning and Zoning office setting is recommended and will be considered preferable for any candidate.
All of the following experience/skill set are required:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Computer Use and Typing
- Must be able to work across disciplines and work with partners
- Ability to understand and interpret written materials and records
Duties: This position involves assisting the Lake George Planning and Zoning Office with normal day to day operations. Specific duties on a weekly basis would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Answer inquiries in person, and through phone / email
- Works with the Permitting software to incorporate all permits
- Attend monthly Planning and Zoning Board meetings (evenings)
- Assists with general office duties as needed

This position is set to be hired by the Town Board by April 2025 for a May 1, 2025 start date. The position is also competitive with Warren County Civil Service and is subject to a future Civil Service Examination at Warren County. Lake George is an EOE/AA Employer.
