POSITION:A full-time fixed term renewable appointment as an Assistant Teaching Professor is available in the Department of Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences. The appointment is for ten months. The position involves teaching a 9/12 fall/spring credit load and includes a 1-month summer appointment. Responsibilities, in addition to teaching, include maintaining the Intensive English Program curriculum, representing the IEP program in the Department of Languages and at the University, serving as the primary academic advisor for students in the Intensive English Program, and supervising student mentors and tutors. This appointment begins August 5, 2024. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:Masters in TESOL, applied linguistics, or other relevant field; experience teaching in an ESL program; familiarity with ESL curriculum; excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and collaborative ability.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of experience in an ESL program with three or more years of experience in a leadership role.
