Ability to lift 50 lbs. Able to work in hot, wet areas and wear personal protective clothing.
Shift
Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with rotational weekend work required.
Job Summary
As requested by Group Leader or Supervisor, completes animal caretaking duties and animal health, experimental surgery and veterinary support duties. All actions are completed by strictly and consistently following applicable DLAR SOPs including safety procedures and guidelines. Reports any suspected or actual deviations to SOPs or non-routine situations immediately to Group Leader or their Supervisor. Arrives, leaves and takes breaks at work as scheduled. Strictly adheres to DLAR attendance policy.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
No
Preferred Education/Experience
BA or BS Degree or it's equivalent is preferred along with AALAS certification at LATg or ASR1 or RVT
Driver's license preferred.
Minimum of 12 months of relevant animal experience directly related to the care, use, handling and treatment of animals in a paid position (ie., work in pet stores, veterinary clinics, farm or ranch) is required.
